Description
24’ 2001 Olympic Coastal $14,900.00 OBO.
I am the second owner purchasing it in 2008, it had a new rebuilt motor with 560 hours on it at that point, it now has 1,282 hours.
This has been an excellent fishing boat, I have fished from South Puget Sound to San Juans, Sekiu, Neah Bay, and mostly Westport since I have had, it has never left me stranded and caught tons of fish.
New electronics 2022
Garmin 942 XSV with 18” radar dome, sounding unit and a Garmin VHS 215 AIS.
New Honda 9.9 log shaft hydraulic tilt power thrust was purchased in 2021 including controls and installed in 2024, used one season. Controlled with an EZ steer rod.
A low hour crate motor was installed in spring of 2020,
New bottom paint in 2021
The boat has been maintained every year changing fluids in both the motor, outdrive and new electronic components.
Two large fish boxes.
The sink was replaced with a four-drawer cabinet by the previous owner.
Three quarter swimstep with a custom stainless steel cooler rack.
Captain seat replaced in 2023
Lots of storage in front.
2000 EZ Loader trailer in excellent shape,
Rollers not bunks
Rollers cleaned and greased, stainless steel bolts installed to replace the regular steel bolts in 2012
The complete brake system was replaced in 2023
New backing plates, drums, slave cylinders, springs, pads, bearings, races and bearing buddies
New master cylinder and hoses,
Drum wash system to flush the drums with salt away every time.
Now why I am asking so little for it.
Last year on the last trip fishing at Westport the rear shifting cable broke, thankfully in forward, This Spring I did the regular maintenance as usual, started it up, started fine, found the rear cap at the heat exchanger was leaking (probably the gasket), a howling noise at the rear of the motor, in the past it was the gimble bearing so my best guess is that.
I had an appointment to get the cable changed at Auburn Sport and Marine, when they started it to listen to the noise it was running rough, they pulled a compression test on the cylinders and found three cylinders had between 70 and 80 pounds in them, could be the heads or the cylinders.
The bones of this boat are in very good condition, it’s the mechanical work needed that justifies the asking price
Other things needed to my knowledge.
The trim tabs are down fully and will not come up, the pump runs going down but not up, may be the switch or the pump.
The Volvo Penta hydraulic steering cylinder and outdrive connection need replaced
Needs new bait tank and pump.
Needs new front hatch seal gasket.
A spider crack in the starboard cap fiberglass above the cuddy needs repaired
Estimated prices on replacement parts not including labor,
Volvo Penta hydraulic steering cylinder $2,000
Replace rear shifter cable, $165.00
Trim tab pump $375.00
Gimble bearing including labor $900.00
Heat exchanger gasket $40.00
Rebuilt motor $6,000
Bait tank and pump $400.00
Hatch seal $60.00
Total $9,940.00
If you do the labor, you would be saving yourself approx. $10,000, I was planning on asking $42,500 before all these issues came up
Included with the boat is,
The long block removed in 2020 (should be rebuildable) complete with everything on it except the CPU
