Description
What you’re looking at is a custom-built SpecMar 2471 catamaran. The hull was professionally welded by a local builder, and I completed the rest—console, benches, rod holders, arch, and more.
This is an awesome boat with a ton of room for a 15-footer. At 7' wide, it’s extremely stable, handles chop very well, and rides dry. It’s a fantastic platform for crabbing, shrimping, and fishing. Last season I ran it out of Neah Bay to Swiftsure multiple times, though most of my fishing has been around Port Angeles and Sequim. I’ve also taken it down to the Columbia River for bass, walleye, and sturgeon—it's performed great everywhere.
It’s perfect for two people and fishes three comfortably.
Power comes from a 2006 Mercury 75 EFI spinning a 14x13 stainless prop. Top speed is about 26 mph, and it cruises comfortably at 20 mph around 4500 RPM. The motor is the only component that was not installed new.
The boat is very well equipped:
3 AGM Optima batteries
Minn Kota alternator charging system
Garmin Force bow mount trolling motor
Garmin 8610
Garmin 215 AIS VHF
MORAD AIS antenna
Blue Sea Systems battery switches
All tinned marine wiring
Pre-wired for electric downriggers or reels
Airmar P66 transducer
Garmin TM54 UHD CHIRP transducer
GFS10 fuel flow sensor
Racor fuel/water separator
New mechanical steering with no-feedback helm
This is a very well-thought-out and capable setup.
I just completed the build and recently titled the boat, so it will carry a 2026 title in my name.
It’s sitting on an older EZ Loader trailer. The bunks could use adjustment, and I have an additional set of fenders for it. While the trailer isn’t a perfect fit, I’ve had no issues hauling it all over the state.
Why I’m selling:
Honestly, I don’t really want to. This boat is perfect for 90% of the fishing I do. However, my dad sold the larger boat we used for offshore and tuna trips, so I no longer have access to something bigger for those conditions. With that—and a growing family—I need to move into a larger boat. I’d love to keep this and add another, but I’m not quite at the two-boat stage yet.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
